Birds and Wildlife

"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly."

Richard Bach

"Don't believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding. Find out what you already know and you will see the way to fly."

Richard Bach (Jonathan Livingston Seagull)

The most important aspect of your garden is that not only is it your work of art, it interacts, sustains and adds to the whole neighbourhood, in the form of vegetation, seeds, water and food for the native wildlife. Don't be worried about the wildlife aspect should it start to appear in you garden; particularly in the UK because most of it is small, cuddly or sweet (our ancestors shot the rest).

If you take on extra bird feeding duties, try to maintain it as you might be responsible for the growth in population numbers. If you do this, rewards are huge. You can also attract extra bees, bugs, hedgehogs, slowworms and voles to your garden. All are excellent pest controllers.
