Deckchairs

“The word ‘Deckchair’ refers historically to a chair that was used on ships, on the deck. They can be easily stacked and put away in high weather and will give you hours of entertainment trying to assemble them”.

The wonderful thing about deckchairs is that they are evocative of those balmy summer day and a true symbol of an English summer in the garden, on the village green or lined up om the beach.

Although originally designed to be used on the deck of ships, they are perhaps put to better use in calmer waters and stiller seas than those that surround our Channel Islands. A breeze through the Channel would render such a chair pretty useless, however they perform very well on all of our delicious sandy beaches.

The material is available in an array of stripes or solid colours giving your garden the appearance of happy summers past and hopeful summers future. So if it is a bright accent of colour or a happy afternoon with a glass of wine to hand, they are become a very safe investment indeed.
